Louie Vega

American house music DJ, producer, remixer, and artist, born on June 12, 1965, in The Bronx, New York City, USA. Based in West New York, New Jersey, Vega is best known for his productions with [a=Kenny "Dope" Gonzalez] as [a=Masters At Work] and [a=Nuyorican Soul], along with his role in [a=Elements Of Life (3)] with [a=Josh Milan]. He started DJing professionally in 1985 at a club called The Devil's Nest, and has since held residencies at Hearthrob, Roseland, The Palladium, Studio 54, The Sound Factory Bar, and continues to play on the international DJ circuit.
He co-founded [l=MAW Records] in the early 1990s as a platform for [a=Masters At Work] productions with Kenny "Dope" Gonzalez. He is also the founder and owner of [l=Vega Records], a division of [l=MAW Records, Inc.], established in 2003, releasing both his solo work and projects from a range of house and Latin-influenced artists.
Son of [a=Luis Vega, Sr.] and father of [a=Nico Vega]. Nephew of [a=Hector Lavoe] (his mother's younger brother). Married to [a=Ana Martins] (aka [a=Anané]). Former husband of [a=India].
