Legends of Acid - Bloody Mary + Honeysmack live

About

From House to Techno and all thats in-between, the 303 has been present since the beginning and lent the ACID name to every genre.

Bloody Mary (Dame Music, Germany)

Bloody Mary is an internationally renowned Producer, Live Act, DJ, Label Owner of Dame-Music, and resident of Tresor Berlin.
A staple in the world-wide techno scene for more than a decade; the French artist’s name is easily recognizable to fans the world over, having produced a string of highly-acclaimed releases on well- known labels over the years, such as Ovum, Missile and U-TRAX to name a few.

She is closely affiliated with two of Berlin’s most infamous queer techno collectives - Gegen and Pornceptual - both labels which she has released music on, and events which she has appeared at
regularly for years.

Her distinct production style is heavily influenced by the raw, hardware-based sounds of the 90s, citing acid legends like Josh Wink, DJ Pierre, Freddy Fresh, Tim Taylor, Hardfloor & Thomas P. Heckmann as some of her biggest influences during her formative years. Fast forward to today, and it’s these exact producers she can be found regularly featuring alongside on the same vinyl releases.

It’s therefore no surprise that she’s often called upon to share her knowledge and expertise around the world. Whether it’s being invited by the Goethe Institute to give production workshops in Mongolia, or being hand-picked by Roland to talk about their illustrious 303 at ADE in Amsterdam, her unique approach to music making and years of experience.

Honeysmack live (Coburg, Australia)

David Haberfeld, known professionally as Honeysmack, is a pioneer of Australia’s electronic and techno scenes, renowned for his raw, improvisational hardware-based live sets, blending acid, techno and experimental sounds. Emerging from the underground techno scene of the 1990s, Honeysmack has stayed true to his roots, continuing to push the boundaries of live electronic music while remaining firmly embedded in the culture that shaped him. His commitment is reflected in his fiercely independent approach and his enduring presence in the community for over three decades.

Bringing a punk rock philosophy to live techno, Honeysmack thrives on spontaneity, energy, and a hands-on approach to music-making. Rejecting rigid pre-programmed sets, his performances are a high-voltage fusion of chaos and control, embracing the unpredictability of analogue hardware and real-time improvisation. His rebellious spirit stands out, proving that techno can be as visceral and immediate as a live rock show.

Unlike DJing, where pre-recorded tracks are mixed, Honeysmack’s practice is rooted in creating music live on the spot. Using drum machines, synthesizers, and modular gear, he crafts dynamic, evolving soundscapes in real time—no pre-made tracks, no safety nets. Each performance is unique, driven by instinct and interaction with the machines, making his approach closer to that of a live band than a traditional DJ set.

Always evolving, Honeysmack continues to push boundaries and challenge conventions, proving that the future of techno is truly live, fearless, and forward-thinking as ever.
