GUERNS THURSDAYS
New Guernica
For the first time in 25 years, Paper‑Cuts presents Pilgrims of the Mind (Live), marking his first-ever Australian appearances across Melbourne, Sydney and Perth this summer 2025/26.
A seminal figure in Canada’s West Coast underground, Stephane Novak emerged from Vancouver’s 1990s warehouse scene, developing a signature sound in psychedelic house, ambient, and proto-trance. He would go on to become a defining pillar of the West Coast sound with his early works on Canadian based labels Interchill, Outersanctum and Robert Shea’s Map Music - including Welcome To Lotus Land and his feature-length debut LP What’s Your Shrine in 1997.
The revival of the project follows a series of reissues on Echovolt in 2019 and 2020 with Subtropiques: The Early Excursions (1993–1994) and Elsewhere: Further Excursions (1994–1995), culminating in the highly praised vinyl reissue of What’s Your Shrine on Heels & Souls in 2023.
Now, Novak returns to the stage for a handful of select performances, including our sister project un:send this New Years and Miscellania on January 10th with mad miran (!!!) and Paper‑Cuts.
