In Store Session: Marcel Ruiz (NYC)

Marcel Ruiz sets the tone for the evening at Rhythm, ahead of the Toronto debut of his party brand, Nuyo Ritmo, at Bambi’s on February 13.

Marcel Ruiz is a DJ, Actor, and Producer based in New York City by way of San Juan, Puerto Rico. Heavily passionate about the enduring legacy of Puerto Rican and Black American contributions to dance music, he founded the party series Nuyo Ritmo, paying homage to the sounds and rhythms that have shaped New York’s underground scene. His curation finds influence in 90’s House and its Disco, Funk and Techno roots, as well as a Caribbean upbringing. Without limits, Marcel plays a balancing act between expressing his old soul and being finely attuned to the zeitgeist, resulting in sets that promote a timeless journey of electronic dance music.
