Reflecting the Turkish word for "different," BASHKKA’s name represents her individuality as an artist. Born and raised in Munich, she is rightly renowned for her daring, uncompromising and incisive style – a sound which captivates audiences while pushing the boundaries of electronic music.
Irreversibly shaped and reshaped artistically by a decade immersed in New York City's rich, diverse culture and LGBTQIA+ legacy, outside of the DJ booth, BASHKKA remains equally committed to SWANA and queer representation; her homage to dance music’s Black and Brown origins, redefines the genre's rebellious spirit.
From residencies at HAMAM Nights, Club RAUM and Munich’s Blitz Club to her solid footing as a regular at Berghain’s Panorama Bar, from standout performances at Glastonbury (listed among Resident Advisor’s 5 Key Performances) to Dekmantel Festival, Nuits Sonores, London’s Fabric and legendary Queer parties like ADONIS, BASHKKA has taken her unique sound and approach to some of the world's biggest and best-known stages.
With her debut EP "Maktub" claiming the number 1 spot in 2023, BASHKKA has emerged as a trailblazing artist and producer, showcasing her bold creativity in impactful collaborations, such as with Sedef Adasï for renowned fashion designer Dilara Fındıkoğlu, as well as in her numerous cutting-edge remixes.
