Kaoru Inoue

DJ and music producer. After various musical experiences, he immersed himself in DJ culture from around 1990 and soon started making music using electronic instruments. Under the names of Chari Chari and Kaoru Inoue, he has created many musical works and remixes, and has performed at various indoor clubs and outdoor festivals to pursue possibilities of alternative dance music through DJing.
He has been a DJ and producing music based on House and Techno, but in recent years, his DJ style is not limited to dance music, as he connects various types of music such as Jazz, Ambient, Balearic, and Experimental with his unique aesthetic sense, and his compositions that are environmental and fourth world-esque, are gaining new acclaim.

Kaoru Inoue

井上薫・DJ/音楽家。高校時代から20代前半までパンク～ロックバンドでのギタリスト経験を経て、1989年にアシッドジャズの洗礼とともにDJカルチャーへ没入。Chari Chari、そしてKaoru Inoue名義での音楽制作やリミックスで数々の作品を残し、またクラブ、野外フェス問わず様々な現場でのDJ活動を通してオルタナティブなダンスミュージックの可能性を追求してきた。
2003年より自主レーベル“Seeds And Ground”を“Crue-L”傘下に立ち上げ（2009年に独立）本名Kaoru Inoue名義でのダンス・ミュージックにフォーカスしたリリースを中心に現在に至る。一方、DJだけでは表現しきれない自身の豊かな音楽性はDSKこと小島大介とのミニマル・アコースティック・ギター・デュオAurora Acousticの作品・ライブ活動などにも記されている。
2014年、12年ぶりにChari Chari名義を復活させ、ライブ・バンドとして再生、2016年に長尺曲のカップリング「Fading Away / Luna de Lobos」をアナログ・リリース。2018年にはポルトガルのレーベル“Groovement”より、ダンスの狂騒から離れ、よりエレクトロニック〜アンビエントなどにフォーカスしたKaoru Inoue名義でのアルバム『Em Paz』をリリースした。2020年にはChari Chari名義での18年ぶりの新作『We hear the last decades dreaming』を、2021年にはそのリミックス・アルバム『Mystic Revelation of Suburbanity』をリリース。エスニック風味のオーガニックなエレクトロニック・サウンドが話題を呼んだ。
House〜Technoを軸としたDJセット、音楽制作を続けてきたが、近年はダンス・ミュージックに限らずJazz、Ambient、Balearic、Experimentalなど様々な音楽を独自の審美眼で繋いでいくDJスタイルや、環境音楽的・第四世界的な楽曲制作が新たに好評を博している。
