About
Mimi Chakravorty is an LA-based, Indian-born DJ and photographer whose sound lives at the intersection of underground energy and emotional escape. She cut her teeth in 2008 DJing sweaty house parties in Santa Barbara while still in college, before making the jump to Los Angeles and embedding herself in the city’s electronic nightlife.
Now a resident at Das Bunker, Mimi is also one half of the collaborative electronic project Midnight Zone, and releases music under her solo moniker Mimi Cry. Her genre-fluid sets move effortlessly across styles, but are always anchored by themes of escapism, diaspora, and a lingering, chronic teen angst that keeps the dance floor both restless and cathartic.
Mimicry is joined by Machine Club residents Gina Kuhn & Remy Marc for a night of deep and dark rhythms at Club Tee Gee.
