Created by partners Toribio (musician/producer/DJ) and Ada Rojas (herbalist and reiki practitioner), Sala Sessions is a multi-sensory deep listening experience rooted in their at-home grounding ritual. Each session expands this intimate practice into a collective experience, where curated music, custom herbal tea blends, and ritual incense create space for meditative presence and connection.

The Experience
Over 2-2.5 hours, we invite you to slow down and listen deeply. Ada begins each session with a grounding meditation to help everyone settle in. Toribio then guides the room through carefully curated ambient and cross genre soundscapes. We encourage you to feel the music, notice how it moves through you, and trust your intuitive responses. Custom herbal tea welcomes you as you arrive, intentionally crafted to ground you and open you up to receive the medicine of the music. Throughout the session, an incense journey unfolds with different scents at different points, supporting the sensory experience. The space feels cozy and living room-like - a place where you can truly settle in.

The music does the healing work; we create the container for collective presence.

Why We Created This
In a culture that demands constant productivity, Sala Sessions offers permission to simply be still—together. Drawing inspiration from The Loft (David Mancuso's legendary 1970s gatherings where music served as medicine), Deep Listening (Pauline Oliveros' practice of transforming hearing into profound attention), and The Nap Ministry (Tricia Hersey's framework for rest as resistance), we create intentional space where nervous systems get to exhale and intuition gets space to surface. This isn't about escaping - it's about arriving. We're not offering distraction; we're creating space for collective attunement.

What to Bring: Yourself, exactly as you are. Comfortable clothing recommended ● Experience Level: No experience necessary. All are welcome This is not a club night, think of it as a concert. Please arrive on time. Our events are seated and comfortable with cushions and small sofas, please be aware the listening room has a no shoes policy. Our events are true listening events, please that by not talking loudly or whispering during the session. This is rest without the expectation of sleep—social rest without conversation, creative rest without production, sensory rest that awakens, mental rest that doesn't require checking out

Head Hi is an organization dedicated to art, architecture, design and sound specializing in publications and cultural programming with an espresso bar located in Fort Greene, Brooklyn by the Navy Yard. We feature a curated selection of publications from around the globe.
