Vibras For The Holidays: Toy Drive Edition
Vibras DC
We hope y’all have kept your latex powdered and your leather conditioned because we’re back for our 4th MLK and MAL weekend! This year’s theme: "Red Light District of Columbia." Please plan ahead to do your raunchiest, thank you.
Anyway, here we come, Noxy and PERVERSE teaming up, keeping a claw on the pulse of the underground to bring you the weekend’s ONLY dose of the dark, dank, pounding, grimy, techno your body wants. On two levels to boot!
On level 1: you’ve been seeing his name all over his NYC home base, and Noxy is excited to welcome to DC for the first time, Concrete Husband. The wildly talented producer, composer, flutist, and DJ weaves grooves of percussive, hypnotic, energetic techno to generate moments of psychedelic mania and sensual release that have made him a firm fixture of the Brooklyn techno scene. Noxy is over the moon to host Concrete Husband right here in DC for this particular weekend especially.
And come early because your techno sorcier, Juana, will be bringing the heat right off the bat…as per usual…really, there’s nothing more that needs to be said about the Noxy co-founder. Juana has enticed crowds all over the world, headlining at venues such as Berghain, LuxFrágil, Fabric, Smartbar, Basement, Nowadays, and countless festivals and raves. Did I say come early? I’m saying it again.
Now make your way up the stairs, through the mist, and into the dark, where desire meets fetish and techno, and a new freedom awakens inside you. Mistress Catalog Series brings you the PERVERSE Pulsechamber, which will feature, direct from Berlin, Jacob Meehan. Since relocating to the Gray City in 2016, Meehan has become a vital figure in the city’s queer nightlife as co-curator of the Buttons parties and WHOLE Festival ambient stage. Jacob’s wheelhouse is shaping spaces where curiosity and community collide. Alongside the dance floor, he explores ambient music as a resident at KWIA listening bar and through yoga nidra sessions that expand his relationship with sound into the wellness realm.
The Pulsechamber also features the best DC has to offer: One of the very first DJs to play Bound NYC-DC, techno curator and lights (vibe) checker Artemis is known these days for lighting designs that regularly melt brains and other bodily organs. Artemis is a true head — a dancer’s DJ with an understanding of building a proper mood. Melding a distinctive variety of tastes and genres into a cohesive experience is Artemis’ forte, and we’re absolutely aflutter to hear his vision for The Pulsechamber.
And as a proverbial cherry on top, we have DJ and eponymous party extraordinaire, Fish House Funk. Based out of Washington, DC, their passion for disco, house, and funky beats takes influence from their many years in the club mixed with a love for community & music to create a sound that pays homage to the roots of house music and queer joy.
And lastly, come and engage in our playground and with live Pros that invite you to participate and explore your boundaries in a consensual, safe environment.
Noxy and PERVERSE take the safety of our community seriously. This party has zero tolerance for racism, sexism, homophobia, transphobia, ageism, ableism, and any conduct considered disrespectful of and antithetical to togetherness, music, and celebration. Any such behavior, along with any unwanted touching, grabbing, leering, etc, will get you bounced and permanently banned. Consent must be freely given and enthusiastic, and can be reversed at any time. Door staff, security, and floor volunteers will be available to make sure everyone has fun and stays safe.
