About
Kyoto-based DJ and producer Stones Taro has released numerous tracks inspired by 90s House, UK Garage, and Jungle on labels in the UK and beyond. In 2020, his “Word Rush EP” on London’s YAM Records sold out worldwide and was later repressed.
Since then, he has released music on Shall Not Fade, Scuffed Recordings, Hardline, and other major labels in the contemporary UK underground scene, establishing himself as a key figure in the UK sound despite being based in Japan.
As a DJ, he has performed at major Japanese festivals such as Star Festival, Rainbow Disco Club, and Fuji Rock Festival, further solidifying his reputation. He has also received support from leading dance music producers including Ben UFO, Objekt, Om Unit, Pearson Sound, Conducta, and Breaka.
In 2017, he and fellow Kyoto-based DJ/producer Lomax launched NC4K, a Kyoto dance music label. Through consistent releases and events, the label has earned recognition as an important link between Japan and the international dance music scene.
