///// ABOUT GUBBI ANN & MARINA CYRINO /////

GubbiAnn (no pronouns), silver-haired gentlepunk and sound-bug, thrives and creates in an eclectic and intentional dis/comfort zone populated with many constellations of humans and methods like noise, ambient, drone, improvisation, DIY oscillators, no-input, circuit bending, but also tapping from (and to) community tools and designs for living like collective collaboration, intersectional feminism and temporary autonomous zones.

Marina Cyrino is a Brazilian flutist, sound artist and researcher based in Berlin. She works across the fields of improvisation, composition, DIY fabrication, and performative installations. Her flute playing is shaped by techniques developed through the use of a hyper-amplification system, combined with a wide variety of DIY preparations, objects, and balloons attached to the instrument. Sometimes fabrication, sometimes deconstruction, sometimes fabulation—these techniques emerge from a search for a radical reimagining of how a flute should sound, reclaiming an intimate sonic imagination, an embodied materiality that challenges the masculine constraints of a phallogocentric tradition in both flute playing and flute construction. She is a member of the Brazilian experimental music label and production house Seminal Records.
