setten session: Jessica Ekomane and Koshiro Hino

New year, new event!
We’re hosting an intimate concert event at Morphine Raum in Berlin for further sonic experimentations.

From our roster, we’ll have Koshiro Hino aka YPY (goat, KAKUHAN, NAKID, birdfriend) presenting his modular synth set for the first time in Europe. He has already appeared setten events twice once as KAKUHAN and once as YPY, but this set will be entirely different from his past performances.

Upon Koshiro Hino’s request, we have invited our longtime friend and a fantastic musician Jessica Ekomane to play a live set alongside him.

Koshiro Hino is a multi-instrumentalist and composer based in Osaka, Japan for a number of projects including the bands goat (jp) and bonanzas, the duo KAKUHAN, and his solo as YPY. He runs a cassette tape label Birdfriend, which features underground musicians from Japan and around the world, as well as a contemporary/electronic record label, NAKID. Hino is a prolific artist who has contributed his work to wide range of projects such as Japanese taiko ensemble Kodo, choreographer Cindy Van Acker, an Estonian feature film The Invisible Fight (2024), and in 2025 alone had his collaborative work with Valentina Magaletti, CS + Kreme and Adam Golebiewski released.

[Jessika Ekomane]

Jessica Ekomane is a French-born and Berlin-based electronic musician and sound artist. She creates situations where the sound acts as a transformative element for the space and the audience. Her quadraphonic performances, characterized by their physical affect, seek a cathartic effect through the interplay of psychoacoustics, the perception of rhythmic structures and the interchange of noise and melody. Her ever-changing and immersive sonic landscapes are grounded in questions such as the relationship between individual perception and collective dynamics or the investigation of listening expectations and their societal roots.
