Classic Album Sundays presents 'Credit To The Edit' with Greg Wilson

About

On Tuesday, the 20th of January, DJ/Producer Greg Wilson will join Colleen ‘Cosmo’ Murphy to explore his ‘Credit to the Edit’ compilation which is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year. The album features Greg’s masterful re-edits and reworks of classic disco, funk and electro tracks and connects both the past and the present. This has always been Greg’s ethos since he began DJ-ing 50 years ago.

Greg Wilson is a DJ legend who has held residencies at the Hacienda and Wigan pier and was an early pioneer of re-edits and re-works which are now a staple for disco and dance DJs. In fact, he was the first in Britain to do so, reworking Paul Haig’s ‘Heaven Sent’ in 1983. That was the same year in which he became the first DJ to demonstrate mixing records on two turntables on television for Jools Holland on the programme The Tube. He is also a podcast host, journalist and historian with a host of great stories to tell.
