Necropolis Festival: WINTER BALL

About

As the festive season winds down and the city catches its breath after the New Year, there’s one night designed for those who crave intensity, darkness and a unique experience.

On 24th January, Necropolis Festival returns for a Winter Ball at a special venue. The venue itself is a character in the night; historic restored Victorian Railway arches dating back to the 12th century, a dramatic space full of hidden corners, high ceilings, and an echo that amplifies every kick, bassline, and synth.

This is also a night for connection, to meet kindred spirits who live for the same energy, to share moments on the dancefloor, and to lose yourself in a crowd that feels like it moves as one.

There will be a Sanctuary Room, hidden corner of Necropolis designed for connection, conversation, and calm. Take a break from the pounding techno and goth music to meet new friends, share stories, or simply relax and recharge. No music will interfere here, so you can enjoy real conversations in a safe, atmospheric space that fits the dark, mysterious vibe of the festival.

There’s no strict dress code for the Winter Ball, but the inspiration for the night is icy winter goth. Think dark elegance, frosted textures, metallic accents, and a touch of the mysterious. We encourage you to show your creativity and interpret the theme in your own way. To help spark ideas, we’ll be sharing outfit inspirations and styling tips on our Instagram in the lead up to the event.

Most importantly, this is a safe and welcoming space for everyone. Come as you are, come as your alter ego, or come as someone you’ve always wanted to be for one night. The focus is on freedom, self expression, and feeling confident in whatever you choose to wear. Whether you lean into the gothic aesthetic, embrace wintery elegance, or bring your own personal twist, the night is yours to dress for, move in, and lose yourself in the music.

We strive to create a safe, welcoming and inclusive environment where everyone feels comfortable being themselves. We do not tolerate any kind of racism, sexism, homophobia, transphobia, harassment, discrimination, or disrespect of any kind.
