On May 8, AkvaWaves presents Rodriguez Jr. (Hybrid Live) at Akvárium Klub’s KisHall.
Rodriguez Jr. is the alias of French electronic music artist Olivier Mateu, an active figure on the international electronic music scene for over two decades. He began his career under the mentorship of Laurent Garnier, releasing music as part of The Youngsters on the F-Communications label. His solo project explores the intersection of melodic house and techno.
His releases can be found on influential labels such as Anjunadeep, Armada and Mobilee, as well as his own imprint Feathers & Bones. He has delivered remixes for artists including Stephan Bodzin, Monolink, Jan Blomqvist, Booka Shade, Röyksopp, NTO, Tricky and Timo Maas.
Rodriguez Jr.’s live performances are built around analog synthesizers and regularly take place at some of the world’s most recognized clubs and festivals, including Cercle Festival, Fabric London, Space Miami, Mirage New York, Zamna Tulum, Lightning In A Bottle, Movement Detroit, CRSSD California, and Burning Man.
His full-length album “Feathers & Bones” was released in 2023 on his own label.
