Gero is a dynamic and versatile artist, DJ, music selector, and director based in Bali, Indonesia. Originating from Jakarta, Gero began his journey by curating and performing at intimate house parties, quickly becoming a key figure in Jakarta's underground scene alongside his collective, Discouture. His high-energy DJ sets helped establish him as a driving force in the city's vibrant party culture.
In 2016, Gero relocated to Bali, where he founded Studio Ekstotika, a carefully curated audiophile record store. This venture deepened his exploration of diverse musical genres, from European disco and zouk to balearic beats and rare grooves. Inspired by Bali's immersive island atmosphere, he created Pesona, a multidisciplinary collective that captures the spirit of coastal life through sound.
Gero's musical expertise led him to take on the role of Music Director at Potato Head Bali in 2019, where he curated music programming, events, and performances. Despite this, his true passion remains in DJing, where he skillfully crafts unique, genre-defying sets that transcend borders and language, taking listeners on a captivating sonic journey.
In 2024, Gero entered a new chapter as a resident DJ at Klymax Discotheque at Desa Potato Head Bali—an exclusive residency handpicked by the legendary DJ Harvey.
This prestigious appointment further cements Gero’s influence in shaping Bali’s music scene, continuing to redefine the island’s music scene with his exceptional sound.
