This January, the legendary FAC51 The Haçienda returns to Bangkok, taking over a secret city-centre space for a 2,000-capacity cultural gathering that celebrates the long-running musical connection between Manchester and Krung Thep. It’s a link first formed in the 80s, strengthened by new generations, and still carried today by those who feel the pulse of that era echoing through modern culture.

Born in 1982, The Haçienda inspired a musical generation, defined a scene and placed dance music firmly on the global map. It laid the foundations of contemporary club culture — the energy, the attitude, the inclusivity — and its reverberations are still felt in cities across the world. Today, FAC51 continues to produce world-class events at the biggest and best venues in the world with 10,000+ capacity sell outs becoming the norm.

BASEMENT JAXX — BANGKOK DEBUT (DJ SET)
This night marks a Bangkok first for Basement Jaxx, the Brit-award-winning, chart-topping duo who rewrote the rules of dance music at the turn of the millennium. Twenty-five years on from Rooty — the record that leapt from underground anthem to global phenomenon — their DJ sets remain some of the most electric in club culture. Expect high-octane energy, carnival-level chaos, fierce cuts, house classics, broken beats, Latin flavours and the kind of crowd-rocking, roof-lifting selections that have kept them at the top of festival bills from Glastonbury to Coachella.

PLUS: GLOBAL + MANCHESTER ICONS

808 State – Manchester’s acid-house trailblazers, creators of era-defining tracks and early pioneers whose influence still runs through contemporary electronic music.

Jon Dasilva – seminal Haçienda resident, architect of the club’s early sonic identity, and a key innovator behind Manchester’s shift toward acid house, known for forward-thinking sets that shaped the sound of a generation.

DJ Paulette – Haçienda resident, pioneering voice, LGBTQ+ trailblazer and a long-standing force in UK club culture whose sets reflect the freedom and fire of the original FAC51.

Move D – the deep-digging maestro whose warm, emotive selections have made him one of electronic music’s most respected cult heroes.

Huerta – a rising figure in the global house and minimal landscape, known for slick grooves and precision-crafted dancefloor flow.
Liquid Earth – LA-born, Berlin-based producer and DJ pushing a distinct strain of hardware-led house, electro and tech-funk, earning a cult following for his hybrid sets and a catalogue that’s helped redefine modern West Coast dance music.
In bringing Move D, Huerta and Liquid Earth to Bangkok, the line-up also pays homage to the forward-facing approach that defined the Haçienda from the beginning.

VERY SPECIAL GUEST: PETER HOOK
A rare appearance from Peter Hook — founding member of Joy Division and New Order, and the original owner of The Haçienda. Few artists carry such a direct line back to the club’s beginnings. His DJ set will bring a unique slice of Haçienda heritage to Bangkok, weaving the sounds, stories and attitude that shaped the scene.

ROOM 2 — CURATED BY TRANSPORT
Celebrating their tenth year, Transport curate a heavyweight underground room of their own — a distilled snapshot of the artists, selectors and sounds that have defined their decade-long impact on Bangkok’s nightlife.

ROOM 3 — BANGKOK COLLECTIVES SHOWCASE
A third room highlights some of the city’s leading music artists and communities:

Yellow Fang • Pissawong • More Rice • Kangkao • Romrom

… with pop-up record stalls and official Haçienda merchandise throughout the night.

Bangkok became the natural home for this edition through time spent in the city and conversations with those who shape it. Thailand’s relationship with British music of the 80s and 90s isn’t imitation or nostalgia — it’s genuine understanding. There’s a spirit here that feels close to the one that sparked The Haçienda in the first place.

Produced in association with/supported by Maho Rasop, Bar Temp, Transport and Bangkok Community Radio — key players in the city’s cultural landscape.
