New York City’s Deccadance Record label owner Donna Edwards is a longtime, mega club DJ, Producer and A&R consultant. Who believes in music with no boundaries and creating a welcoming space for every dancer / music lover to explore.

Donna's first encounters mixing were with the legendary DJ &
Promoter Don Welch (Sound Factory Bar/Underground Network). Smitten with
the idea of blending beats and rhythms to make people move and encouraged by weekly family outings to Brooklyn’s revered Empire skating rink, Donna was influenced by innovative talents like Tee Scott and DJ Big Bob.

She went on to play New York mega clubs like Silver Shadow, Roxy, Octagon, Warehouse, and as the first woman to play Timmy Regisford’s highly coveted Shelter. Expanding her network, playing in venues from Jersey, Philly, Chicago, ATL, Baltimore, Detroit, to Miami’s Winter Music Conference and D.C.’s dance circuit at Tracks and The Edge. Eventually taking it global with international clubs like Fabric in London, and Precious Hall in Japan.

"It’s about making sure the people that come through the door are happy, the promoters are happy and the club owner is happy. If you can’t do that, then you won’t be working," she states simply. "The key to a good party is how you play the music - the selection and the programming."

We are excited to have this Icon of the DJ world, and Deep Sugar family member at the helm all night in March. The journey will be thorough and transcendent from the first record to the last!
