Dilla SOUNDS 2.0: Celebrating the Birthday and Legacy of J DILLA

Join us again this year for another special event celebrating the life, music, and lasting impact of Detroit producer and beatmaker James Yancey aka J Dilla, a visionary who shaped the sound of hip-hop and soul throughout the ’90s and early 2000s. His legendary work with artists like De La Soul, A Tribe Called Quest, Erykah Badu, Common, Talib Kweli, and so many others continues to influence music today.

Tragically, Dilla passed away in 2006 due to complications from Lupus.

This night is Part Deux to the inaugural SOLD OUT party last year that was dedicated to honoring this musical genius, we are excited to be BACK but this year landing at Rhythm Space and once again with proceeds going to support Lupus Canada.

This years event holds even deeper significance, as it will be J Dilla’s 52nd birthday and this year marks the 20th year since passing.
