Slash Need + Sook-Yin Lee + more: WMFC26

About

Presented with Sonic Boom

In partnership with TO Live

Slash Need (Toronto // goth-electronica)

Sook-Yin Lee (Toronto & Vancouver // one woman media arts convergence)

Sheenah Ko (Saguenay & Montréal // electro-dance party)

+ Darkwave DJ set by xMAdMx (aka Melissa Auf der Maur // Montréal & Hudson NY // alt-rock icon)

Boundary-pushing with unfiltered energy, Slash Need’s music surges through your body demanding to be danced to. It’s no exaggeration to say SN is the city’s hottest band right now.

Sook-Yin Lee’s contribution to Canadian media cannot be overstated. From mid-’90s MuchMusic VJ to feminist film director to playing Toronto mayor Olivia Chow in CBC’s Jack biopic, it’s easier to list what Lee hasn’t done.

Irish-Chinese producer and composer Sheenah Ko quickly caught the attention of the music scene with her use of analog synthesizers and refined electronic production. Enjoy the immersive and emotive atmosphere her work brings.

The festival will close out in epic style with Canadian music legend Melissa Auf der Maur (Hole, Smashing Pumpkins) aka xMAdMx dropping a late night darkwave DJ set following her book launch earlier that day. Known in this realm as MAdM, Auf der Maur returns to her bohemian upbringing as a cassette DJ.
