#IRL: In Real Life: Tone Dropout

#IRL returns to the Golden Lion, Todmorden with an event which showcases a label we've admired for a very, very long time!

Esteemed underground label Tone Dropout Records, co-founded by DJs and producers Dawl & Sween, continues to make waves in the global electronic music scene. Since its inception in 2013, the label has built a cult following for its distinctive take on raw house, electro, and breakbeat-infused sounds.

With roots deep in the UK rave scene, the Essex-based duo have been DJing together since the early 1990s. Under the Tone Dropout banner, they’ve brought their infectious energy to stages around the world, performing at renowned festivals such as Houghton and Alfresco, and iconic venues including Tresor and Ohm in Berlin, as well as More Rice in Thailand.

“Tone Dropout has always been about that original spirit of underground music—raw, energetic, and uncompromising,” says Sween. “We’re excited to keep pushing that forward with every release.”

Also DJing on the night will be Mancunian stalwart Damo B, who's weekly Outta Limits Radio Show has championed new artists and labels from around the globe,for over a decade, Dave Owen, who's performances at Eastern Bloc have garnered a reputation for fine selections, and Rubes, who's 'Darkroom' events showcased the darker, edgier sounds from the far reaches of the electronic music spectrum.
